MY NAME IS SYBILINE
Hi !
My vision of the world and everything in it has always been imbued with fantasy and mysticism. My works have always witnessed an understanding of what is alive, whether it is people, animals or silent nature. When I paint, each brushstroke is guided by a spiritual intuition. My desire is always to capture the emotion beneath the subject, an aura that often translates in a surrealistic way. I usually incorporate elements that are in harmony with nature so that our roots are always present.

In my portrait work, for example, I hope to dive into the true depths of a person's identity and expose the invisible; what I call "their inner garden". I bring life with an imaginary that tells their authentic story.

I want each work to be part of a greater whole, urging the viewer to share my vision. This is why animals are also such a precious subject for me. With these magical creatures, we never really know what they are thinking, leaving many possibilities for interpretation. I like to represent them in my art as our equals; with a greater intellectual power than we assume.

Until now, my work has mainly been focused on portraits, animals and flora in general. My love for wood in my pieces was perhaps influenced by my father, a wood turner and craftsman, who inspired me to use it as a support. The wood grains tell a story in themselves, while bringing another organic element to complete a natural esthetic. I sometimes use marquetry to highlight the wood. I studied this technique specifically in order to frame my works.
Being graduate of Université Laval with a Bachelor degree in Visual Arts, I am fortunate to have had my artwork exhibited in galleries around the world, including Modern Eden and Nanny Goat Gallery (California), Abend Gallery (Colorado), Illuxcon (Pennsylvania), Penumbra (Portugal), Federation Gallery (Vancouver), Gristle (New York) and Greenhouse Gallery (Texas). I am also very pleased to announce that I recently won first place in the Trekell Art Supplies Pet Portrait Contest with my oil painting "Hypnotique".

Nothing brings me as much pleasure as my art and I hope it brings you as much.
From my studio in Quebec, thank you so much for stopping by.
